Equity & Engagement

Vision

All individuals, regardless of ability, and communities within the region will have full and equal access to the opportunities that enable them to attain their full potential. Decision making and the implementation of solutions in the region will be done in a way that ensure that all of the region’s residents have an opportunity to participate in the process, implementation and evaluation.

Committee Information

The Equity & Engagement Committee is a special committee tasked with moving forward the Heartland 2050 Vision’s mission that all individuals and communities have full and equal access to opportunities that enable them to attain their full potential. 

The Equity & Engagement Committee is chaired by:

Committee Meetings

Equity & Engagement Committee meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every other month from 3-4:30 p.m.

Currently, the Equity & Engagement Committee and the Housing & Development Committee are hosting joint meetings during the regular Equity & Engagement meeting times, in order for the groups to work together on upcoming projects.

Meetings are open to the public and you are invited to join us!

Working Groups

Working groups are subcommittees formed around a specific topic area or effort. Working groups are led by a ‘champion,’ are overseen by the Committee they fall under, and generally manage their own meetings and work.

Equitable Development Scorecard

The Equity & Engagement Committee has worked with partners throughout the region to create an Equitable Development Scorecard for local use.
