Who Was Involved?

We all were involved in Heartland 2050. Government, business, civic and nonprofit groups, and the public were active participants in this process.

Many thanks to the thousands of dedicated individuals and organizations who have contributed to the creation of the Heartland Vision.

 Heartland 2050 Steering Committee

The Steering Committee was the primary decision-making body of the visioning effort. It had ultimate say in the content of the vision, as well as substantial control over the conduct of the visioning process. The Steering Committee’s decisions on deliverables were forwarded to the MAPA Board for concurrence. The Steering Committee was supported in its decision-making role by a set of stakeholder committees organized around relatable themes: people (human capital); resources (natural capital); and places (built capital).
